With the completion of the Edenville Dam cutoff wall, we are at a point where crews can safely suspend construction work at the Edenville Dam site at the end of June while Four Lakes Task Force awaits direction on financing. The embankment work was initially expected to suspend in September. Suspending Edenville construction work at the end of June will preserve funds while FLTF waits to hear the outcome of the appeal and waits for funding to get sorted out. The remaining Phase IV work on Edenville is not on the critical path, and final work to finish this phase can be done concurrently once the project receives financing and starts Phase V. Over the next several weeks, crews will put topsoil and grass seed on the Tittabawassee side of Edenville Dam to essentially complete that portion of the embankment. Work on the Tobacco side toe drains and slopes will continue for the next several weeks to bring the Tobacco embankment to a stable hold point. All work on Edenville dam will be suspended by the end of the month. Construction crews will demobilize from the site but it will be continually monitored by FLTF Operations crews to ensure all slopes remain stable, toe drains are functioning and dam safety instrumentation is monitored.
