Walleye fishing season begins Saturday, April 30th. There will be three available fishing locations at the Four Lakes dams beginning this weekend: Secord Dam, Smallwood Dam and the Tobacco side of Edenville Dam.
On Monday, April 25th, Midland City Council met in a special meeting with FLTF and the City's Advisory Committee on Infrastructure to discuss updates on dam restoration and hydrology studies.
This session is an opportunity to discuss the Special Assessment District (SAD) methodology and benefit factors and how they relate to your property. This is not a time to protest your inclusion in the SAD because it is already final. FLTF board members and lake association representatives will also be available for questions.
It's possible there will be a wait to be seen. We will work as quickly as possible and we thank you in advance for your patience.
To expedite the process, please bring the parcel ID number for all parcels you want to discuss. If you're able to, fill out this card beforehand and bring it with you.
Clarification on the Funding Plan
The $200 million state grant has been a very significant inflection point for how the Four Lakes Special Assessment District will be managed as well as the Four Lakes restoration project going forward. We have received questions related to the new assessment model since the amount of the Capital Assessment is now common for all lake property owners, similar to the Operations Assessment.
On April 6th, almost 400 people joined a public informational session webinar to learn more about funding and financing. Presenters shared preliminary estimates of the Capital Assessment and changes to the assessment methodology. You can watch a recording of the webinar and see the presentation slides on the Events page of our website.
