Since Four Lakes Task Force shared its draft assessment rolls in December 2023 for the restoration project costs and 2025-2029 Operations & Maintenance costs, we have made over 1,400 updates to the assessment roll including parcel combinations and splits and benefit factor updates. A summary of the changes will be presented to the Gladwin and Midland county commissioners and can be found here. Information about the computation of costs and assessment rolls can be found on the FLTF Special Assessment District page. Tomorrow, February 6th, FLTF will present the final assessment rolls to the commissioners for their review and vote. See the FAQs below for more information about the meeting.
Approximately half of the 707 objections were related to specific costs, benefit factors, and property issues that FLTF took into consideration for change, however we ultimately changed the apportionment on over 1,400 properties. The link above shows the changes. For example, 40% were lowered to the 0.25 floor on backlots to recognize lower benefit calculations, and 17% were lowered because of limited ability to develop. These types of changes that adjusted the benefit factors were then spread to all applicable properties. Dave Kepler, President Four Lakes Task Force Comments are closed.
