Secord Dam Pull-Ahead Projects Pave Way for Restoration

​Crews have been working on a pull-ahead project on Secord Dam that is being conducted prior to receiving a full construction permit.

The project involves removing the generator and runner from the Secord turbine pit in preparation of converting it to a low level outlet. The low level outlet is located low on the dam. It will pass base flows during the winter to reduce ice issues at the new high flow crest gates. Conducting the project before receipt of the permit will help keep construction on schedule.
