In January 2021, property owners in the Four Lakes Special Assessment District received a survey from Public Sector Consultants (PSC), a Lansing-based policy research firm, that sought to better understand how the August 2020 dam failures impacted them and to gauge property owners' willingness to pay an assessment to rebuild the dams. There has been significant progress towards stabilizing and rebuilding the dams, including securing $200 million in state funding to pay for a substantial portion of the rebuilding costs. A new survey is in the mail that is designed to gauge if property owner opinions have changed over the past year.
