Representatives Mike Hoadley and Bill G. Schuette enrolled House Bills 5419 and 5420 to amend Act 225 of 1976 which permits the State of Michigan to cover the cost of special assessments for low-income seniors. This would reinstate a previously expired program to provide important financial relief for seniors paying special assessments - a bill that would apply to the Four Lakes. “I want to thank Representatives Hoadly and Schuette for these bills, and Secord Township Supervisor Joel Vernier who led this initiative on behalf of our community,” said President of Four Lakes Task Force, Dave Kepler. “While there is still work to do, this is a great step forward to support seniors in need.”
The bills still need to work their way through the legislative process in Lansing. Click the button below to read the announcement from the Michigan House Republicans. Comments are closed.
