Erosion Stabilization Work Impacts Dozens of Properties

With the help of volunteers, Spicer Group engineers and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), over a mile of shoreline that threatened homes or infrastructure has been stabilized.

• Completed projects stabilized 6,253 feet of land. That's the equivalent of 38 Olympic-size swimming pools!
• 8 erosion projects finished and 19 to go
• Projects impacted 39 properties
• An estimated $20 million of investment is needed to stabilize bank erosion. A majority of this funding is being provided by NRCS with a 25% match through other funding sources including affected property owners
