EGLE Releases Preliminary Report on the Edenville Dam Failure, Response Efforts and Program Reviews9/3/2020
This report is generally consistent with the framework and priorities of Four Lakes Task Force, including our desire to see the stabilization of the Tobacco side of the Edenville Dam. We support the path forward proposed by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy and will continue to work cooperatively with the agency to stabilize the lakes, ensure their safety, and recover them for the long-term. We see this as a positive step forward to restoring our lakes and dams. Regarding the forensic investigation, we are pleased to learn the investigation will be independent from Boyce Hydro and we join the community in our desire to know the results of the forensic investigation in 12-18 months.
