Secord and Smallwood work sites suspended work at the end of October. The crews demobilized equipment as work was completed. FLTF will continue to monitor the three suspended dams with safety inspections. Sanford work will continue until the end of January. The crew will complete Phase 2 of the cofferdam before fully suspending work.

Referenced in the webinar was a memo created by GEI regarding dam safety and safe suspension points. Read the memo here. Secord and Smallwood are demobilizing crews in preparation for the upcoming suspension this month. The crews are ensuring that the dam is in a safe and stable condition while the litigation surrounding the appeal continues. We have an updated completion date graphic on our dams page. Meanwhile, Sanford work continues until January. The crew is pouring concrete in the powerhouse, low level outlet and the retaining walls.
