Secord and Smallwood work sites suspended work at the end of October. The crews demobilized equipment as work was completed. FLTF will continue to monitor the three suspended dams with safety inspections. Sanford work will continue until the end of January. The crew will complete Phase 2 of the cofferdam before fully suspending work.

Secord and Smallwood are demobilizing crews in preparation for the upcoming suspension this month. The crews are ensuring that the dam is in a safe and stable condition while the litigation surrounding the appeal continues. We have an updated completion date graphic on our dams page. Meanwhile, Sanford work continues until January. The crew is pouring concrete in the powerhouse, low level outlet and the retaining walls. Edenville construction is already suspended, with Smallwood following in September, Secord in October, and Sanford in January. We continue to work through the Michigan Court of Appeals case and hope crews can get back to work again in the spring/summer of 2025.

In July we placed concrete and achieved 95% installation completion of the Secord steel sheet pile auxiliary spillway among other things. These activities are closely monitored by the project team to ensure a durable final product.
