The online Special Assessment District map was recently updated to be consistent with current tax records provide by the counties this month. Changes to the map were made to property owner names to reflect changes in ownership and parcels were adjusted for splits and combinations. The Four Lakes SAD assessment apportionment percentage was approved by Gladwin and Midland counties, DID NOT CHANGE. Combination requests submitted to the townships before February 5, 2024 are now treated as one property.
Going forward (post-February 5, 2024) if two or more properties are combined, the total apportionment of the two properties will be applied to the remaining properties. If a property is split, its apportionment will be spread to the other properties. It is a "zero-sum" exercise; the total apportionment in a combination or split stays the same. Comments are closed.
